Rivermend Health Centers of Georgia offer an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for individuals 18 and over who suffer from a substance use disorder and need more than weekly counseling, but don’t need residential care.
This level of care is appropriate for those who are able and willing to commit to a structured program that requires regular attendance and active participation. Our Intensive Outpatient Program gives individuals the opportunity to continue living at home and work in the community during treatment. Individuals are able to begin implementing the recovery skills acquired through the program and are provided the opportunity to process their experience in a safe and supportive group environment. By doing this, they begin to establish a foundation for life–long sobriety.
The Intensive Outpatient Program is filled with activities including individual and group therapy sessions, as well as educational lectures, with special emphasis on issues occurring in the home and work environments. Individuals are asked to attend 12–Step meetings in the community and begin establishing a sober support system.
