As the Admissions Coordinator for RiverMend Health Centers, Meredith coordinates and moves patients through the detox process to residential care. Meredith brings a vast skill set to consisting of excellent patient care, communication, compassion, and dedication to her patients and her role at RiverMend Health Centers.
Meredith holds a cum laude undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi in social work and is licensed as an International Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor Level II, International Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor, Substance Abuse Professional, Licensed Social Worker, and is a Notary.
Prior to joining RiverMend Health Centers, Meredith was a Clinical Therapist for Oxford Centre in Oxford, Mississippi where she specialized in Young Adults. Meredith also worked as the Clinical Coordinator and Lead Clinical Therapist for HealthQwest, a Medicated-Assisted Outpatient Substance Abuse Facility in Savannah, Georgia. While at HealthQwest, Meredith was passionate about advocating and educating families, physicians, and the community about Medicated-Assisted Treatment and due to Meredith’s passion for educating she was awarded the additional title of Director of Outreach. Also in Meredith’s experience she has also worked as an Outreach/Transition Therapist at Haven House in Oxford, Mississippi where she worked closely with patients and family for up to six months at a time. Meredith is currently pursuing her master’s degree in social work.
Meredith has grown up around addiction and has overcome her own challenges with addiction. While in school, Meredith focused her research on studying families and their attitudes towards addiction. Meredith has used this research in order to help incorporate family systems into the treatment process in the form of Addiction Education, Family Group Therapy, and Intervention Processes with patients and their families throughout the course of her career. Meredith finds a passion in uniting family members back with their loved ones and being able to help individuals that are struggling with addiction find themselves again to get their lives back on track. Meredith has dedicated the last six years of her professional and personal life to addiction has has worked in all aspects of the treatment process.
Meredith is a member of several professional organizations such as: National Association of Social Workers, Sigma Alpha Lambda Association of Social Workers, Georgia Addiction Counselors Association, Association for Addiction Professionals, Who’s Who Among Young Professionals, and is a member of Young Pressionals of Oxford, Mississippi, Savannah, Macon and Augusta Georgia. Meredith also enjoys volunteering and working with the community whenever possible.
